Poręba Wielka
St. Bartholomew’s Church in Poręba Wielka
|
Poręba Wielka gmina: Oświęcim |
St. Bartholomew’s Church in Poręba Wielka was built in the C16th and is one of the oldest churches in the Silesian Hills. The church has a late-gothic Silesian-style character. It consists of a nave and a narrower chancel closed on three sides with a sacristy built on, all tin-roofed. The interior of the church is remarkable for its late-gothic portals with lintels carved with ogee arches, while the walls and ceilings display Young Poland polychrome decoration. The rococo altars, pulpit and organ front date from the end of the C18th, while the font is classical. |
