The manor house in Dołęga
|
Dołęga gmina: Szczurowa |
The manor house in Dołęga was built in 1845 and has had a stormy history: it was raided during the peasant unrest of 1848”,” a field hospital was set up there in 1863 for those injured in the Uprising”,” and during World War II a rather mysterious figure spent time there – Józef Retinger. After World War II the manor house remained in the hands of Jadwiga Tumidajska”,” who decided to offer it to the state in the 70s with the provision that it was to become a museum. Today it is a branch of the District Museum in Tarnów. The ground-floor larch wood building was built to a horseshoe plan. The majority of the furniture dates from the C19th. In Jadwiga Tumidajska’s bedroom”,” arranged with art-nouveau furniture”,” you can admire paintings by Stanisław Wyspiański. |
