| The Władysław Orkan Biographical Museum (“Orkanówka”) in Poręba Wielka is housed in a wooden villa built in 1903-06 in a style recalling the Zakopane style. It is a one-storey building with an adapted high loft. It was built to a rectangular plan and has a wide façade and a hinged and glazed veranda. The roof gables and mansards are decorated with sun motifs. The museum collections portray the life and literary output of Władysław Orkan (1875-1930) along with artefacts from the material culture of the Gorals living on the northern slopes of the Gorce mountain range. |
