| The “Witkiewicz” Villa, Droga na Antałówkę 6, was erected in the years 1903-1904 in the Zakopane style, based on a project by Jan Witkiewicz Koszyc; with funds provided by Jan Witkiewicz. It is a single-storey, log-construction building with an adapted loft, set on a high stone foundation with arcades. From 1931-1939 the villa was occupied by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz (Witkacy), the son of Stanisław Witkiewicz, a well-known writer, painter, philosopher and art theorist. At that time his famous Portrait Painting Firm was based here. |
