| St. Clement’s Church (currently Our Lady of Częstochowa) was erected in 1848 (and rebuilt in 1850-51) next to the first Zakopane shrine, which was founded in 1800 by Paweł Gąsienica. It is a single nave church with log-construction walls, vertically boarded on both the inside and outside. At the front is the church-porch from 1947, and inside are three altars, produced by the folk sculptor Wojciech Kułach from Gliczarów. In 2003 the church underwent renovation. |
