The Sabała peasant hut in Zakopane
|
Zakopane Local government: Zakopane |
The Sabała peasant hut, Krzeptówki 17, was erected at the turn of the C19th. It is an example of the oldest type of Podhale two-room dwelling (the so-called Silesian-Spiš layout – a hall, black (living) room and white (bed) room). According to tradition this is the birthplace of the legendary story teller and musician Jan Krzeptowski Sabała. In the years 1979-1984 it housed an ethnographic exhibition of the Tatry Museum. It currently belongs to private landlords. |
