| The Bogdan Szymusik Museum of Bee-keeping in Stróże was set up in 2000 at the “Sądecki Bartnik” Apiary Farm on the initiative of the farm owners Mr. and Mrs. Kasztelewicz. The open-air museum’s collections offer the chance of observing bee-keeping equipment and over 100 hives sculpted in various forms. There are box hives (framed and frameless), observation hives, block hives, rack hives and also skeps. The most valuable historical artefacts include a block for five bee families from the turn of the C19th, while the African hives are a curiosity. The museum library contains a collection of publications concerning bee-keeping from the C17th to the C19th. |
